You know what pisses me off? People who say that they're non denominational because they believe in Christ and thats all. They don't need doctrines cuz they divide people. What a load of crap...and a sure sign that they don't even know what a doctrine is. 3:40 PM

A Malaysian student group has demanded that the government ban the telecasting of World Wrestling Federation matches, charging that they are contributing to moral decadence, particularly among young people. Well, I don't know if it's as much an issue of moral decadence as one of the value in television entertainment. But thats for you to decide.
The Walt Disney Co., the brunt of international criticism after it forced a school in Scotland to shut down a production of The Lion King and return the proceeds that it had collected for charity, has reversed itself and has given the school a go-ahead, the BBC reported Thursday. A Disney spokesperson told the school in a fax: "We have decided that you can put on your show. Yes, the full version as you had planned. We think that you are a special case. [You're Scottish.]"
Monty Python members Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, who are promoting the re-release in six markets this weekend of the 1975 comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, have recalled that when they first showed the feature to investors, nobody laughed. Go figure -- they were English. Sometimes I think Americans find English humor funnier than they do themselves. Never fear though my fellow Python lovers, because Jones and Gilliam succeeded, and we'll be seeing the re-release soon.
Homing Beacon, the official newsletter of StarWars.com, reported Thursday that things are so busy at Industrial Light & Magic, where technicians are scurrying to generate the effects for Episode II, that when one ILM artist asked George Lucas to stamp his latest printed renderings with an official OK, Lucas replied, "We're moving too fast for stamps now," then quickly left the room for another meeting. Maybe this would explain why the first one was so dumb.
And finally, my last bit 'O Hollywood news...
"Indiana Juggs in the Temple of Bazooms." What one Philladelphia Daily News reporter is calling Tomb Raider. 1:45 PM

Often times I wonder how much longer this life will take before we can get out of here, and finally taste of the fruits promised to us. Is that selfish? If God has ordained an X amount of time for each person to be prepared here on earth for heaven, is it bad to want to skip right to the end? Is bad to just want to bypass all the trials, the failures, and the obstacles? Are we supposed to enoy our stay on earth? I never cease to amaze myself how I can break my own standards as a christian, let alone Christ's standards. To the point even where I can't face myself in the mirror until I've gathered enough dust on the memories, or callosousness over my conscience. And I wonder, why? if this life is such a miniscule period in the history of eternity, does it take so long to get through?? 10:51 PM

Hey, wanna know where you can go to discover that Jesus' love is cool? Just incase you've forgotten how hip God's Son actually is, I've got just the place for you. It's called Group's Polar Expedition (and don't mistake that "t" in expedition for just some letter in the alphabet, it actually is a cross!!) On the dates of July 9th to July 13th (yes, the 13th is a Friday...just to prove that we Christians know how to turn the tables on those eerie satanic days) at the Cielo Vista Elementary School you can join a whole slew of kids just like yourself and rediscover, or discover for the first time, just how neat Jesus can be at our 2001 summer vacation bible school. For a mesely $45 you can spend five whole three hour days gettin' down with the Christ man and his people. Thats right! Only $45 for the whole week...AND! don't think we didn't name it the Polar Expedidtion for nuthin'. Cuz we have our reasons!! I just can't tell you what they are, or I'll give away the surprize. But I will tell you there's a purple polar bear sliding down a snow hill on his butt, wearing a red scarf, yellow beanie, and blue mittens on the cover of the brochure. And you can't tell me that isn't cool, cuz I know it is. So, come chill with us next month -- it'll make you rad!! 2:16 PM

At some unknown point in my life I began hating such conversations as homosexuality, abortion, racism, and the like. I remember lovin' 'em, and actually being quite good at them. Of course, thats all perception, and whenever perception of ones self is the issue it's always going to be warped more than normal. But, my pleasure in ripping baby killlers, queers, and any race of people that I didn't understand or thought was weird was certainly a major motive in arguing about 'em. Before any one gets the wrong idea, I've grown up a bit, while I still hold to the same general view that homosexuality is wrong, or abortion is wrong, I have a much more mature and tolerable stance against it. Although, I have seemed to eliminate the unwarranted hate I had towards other races, I still have some discomforts when I'm surrounded by them. The difference is that I've come to learn that there's nothing wrong with those cultures, or the feeling of discomfort I have as long as its controlled.
So, Mr. The Dane encouraged me to read through all these discussions regarding homosexuality...and I forced myself through most of it. Finally, I just couldn't handle it. Don't get me wrong, I have a ton of respect for many people that have a much higher tolerance, or even no problem with homosexuality than I do. But to hear people argue how it's normal, or okay, or -- whatever, just gets me so angry. I've gotten to the point where I don't mistreat people if they're gay, or I can be around gay people if they're not acting gay, but I haven't gotten over the idea of how straight people can condone it. Maybe I have some growing up to do...and I know that I do...but for crying out loud people! Sure, I expect it from a depraved world, blah blah blah, but that doesn't make it any easier to react to. Not for me at least.
