Made

Swingers fans much anticipated this recent offering by comic pair Jon Favreaux and Vince Vaughn. This film in many ways is a reversal of Swingers. In Swingers, Favreaux leaves New York for Hollywood in search of acting fame. Made finds our duo leaving LA for some shenanigans in NYC. In Swingers, Favreaux is the dorky, sort of loveable guy who can't pull things together, while Vaughn plays the cool cat, charming and a charmer. Favreaux's character is smart and nice, not at all dorky in Made; Vaughn's character, on the other hand, while still somewhat charming, is the screw-up who can't seem to pull anything off without looking like a complete idiot.

Rating:

Well, there was one other significant reversal in Made. Swingers was good, cleverly written and funny. Made is not. The writing is pretentious; what worked in Swingers falls quite short in this pseudo-sequel.

I won't recommend Swingers fans stay away, just don't expect to much, because you will be disappointed.

In summary, this film is so NOT money, baby, it doesn't even know how NOT money it is.
