The Princess Bride

You already know this film, I'm sure. Perhaps you'll remember it as the last good film of Robin Wright (Penn). Coincidentally, it was also her first.

Rating:

This film is great for families and high school classrooms (wink!). It's quite simply a story about a romanticized view of True Love (as a platonic form)--the true love of Princess Buttercup (Wright) and farm boy Wesley (Cary Elwes). Touching performances are given by Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, and Wallace Shawn, as well as an unforgettable cameo appearance by Billy Crytal and Carol Kane. Members of the (now-defunct) Fred Savage fan club will also enjoy this picture.
