Rush Hour 2
I promised myself that I would never see a Jackie Chan film (you can't count Cannonball Run). So, what happened? Don't ask. But I am more resolved now than before that I shall never see another. ![]() Rating: ![]() I started out by giving this film three full ducks. Then I decided to deduct a half duck for an appearance by Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). But I had to restore that half duck because Chris Tucker is so dang annoying. Then I decided to remove a half duck for a worthy uncredited cameo by Don Cheadle. But then I had to restore that half duck because I only laughed five times in the entire film. Ultimately, I decided to remove a half duck for the outtakes (which were far better than the ordinary takes, I assure you). They don't at all justify paying good money to see this film, but if on some future date there should come out a special edition DVD featuring just the outtakes from Rush Hour 2 which can be rented for 30 cents, then by all means, rent it! In summary, watching this film was torturous, far worse than having Jackie Chan beat the poopies out of you with a celery stalk, a tub of Petroleum Jelly, and a handful of Swedish Fish. |
